Merchants in the Community
Merchants is committed to an ethos of good corporate citizenship.
Often, that means taking the initiative and pitching in as we can when we see the need. In 2016, when Flint, Mich. suffered a crisis involving their municipal water system, Merchants partnered with the Racine Police Department and CannedWater4Kids to send two truckloads of bottled water to provide healthy hydration for that city’s residents.
Whenever we can, we partner with organizations in our community to lend our support to their outstanding efforts to assist our friends and neighbors in need.
Following are a few of the community organizations that Merchants have lent our support to:
- Bethany Apartments (Racine Dominicans transitional housing for battered women & children)
- Downtown Racine Corporation
- HALO (Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization)
- Move For Hunger (donations routed to Racine County Food Bank)
- Racine Coalition Against Human Trafficking
- Royal Family Kids Camp
- Racine Family YMCA
- Racine Youth Leadership Academy
- State Street Civic Association
- Strong Communities Agenda
- The United Way of Racine County
- Truckers Against Trafficking
- Young Aviators
- Special Olympics
- Career Discovery Solutions (through Rotary & Racine Unified School District)
- Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child
